Metropolitan Anchor Hospitals (or MAHs) are vital urban hospitals that provide crucial health care and other services to marginalized and underserved communities. MAHs face a challenging patient-payer mix. MAHs need sustained federal support to advance their successful programs, strengthen patient outcomes, and further improve health in their communities.
