AHA invites member hospitals and health systems to join us in elevating our long-held commitment to patient safety to its next level through innovation, transformation and a foundational emphasis on culture of safety, health equity and health care workforce safety.
The patient safety initiative spans multiple years, with the first year focused on foundational priorities. The first phase of the initiative is a series of collaboratives lasting two to three months each, aimed at achieving the following goals:
- Promoting a hospital-wide/system-wide commitment to providing exceptional, safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient- and family-centered, and affordable care.
- Showcasing successful models of care, services and collaboration to provide seamless care.
- Inspiring hospitals and systems to lead and partner with community organizations to improve health and address health care disparities.
- Recognizing hospital and system leadership to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of care
