CMS: Fewer Medicaid/CHIP services accessed during pandemic

Children and adults in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program used 26 million fewer mental care health services between March and October 2020 than during the same period in 2019, declining 34% for children and 22% for adults, according to preliminary data released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

On May 4, 2021 security researchers published a collaborated report identifying 21 vulnerabilities for EXIM, an open source email server platform. These vulnerabilities can be exploited remotely and allow for full compromise of the system. Several healthcare organizations appeared in a search engine result for internet-connected devices utilizing EXIM. HC3 recommends all healthcare organizations that operate EXIM platforms immediately apply appropriate patches.

Providence St. Joseph Health, headquartered in Washington State, launched the 100 Million Mask Challenge and has seen a tremendous outpouring of support from individuals, community organizations and local manufacturers.The American Hospital Association will now bring the initiative to scale across the country, facilitating new relationships between providers in need of surgical masks and manufacturers with the capacity to produce them.
