Bundled Payment

Late July 9, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services proposed a new payment model that would bundle payment to acute care hospitals for hip and knee replacement surgery the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CCJR) model.
Bundled payment, where providers are reimbursed a set fee for an episode of care, would break down current payment silos and reward providers for improving the coordination, quality and efficiency of care.
