Saint Peter's Healthcare System Lifting Up Patients and Employees Alike

Saint Peter’s Healthcare’s dual investments in infrastructure and education are improving the lives of both patients and employees.

The New Jersey-based Catholic mission-driven care provider kicked off 2024 in a big way, opening a new, 73,000 square foot Family Health Center that offers comprehensive primary and specialty care to adults, children and women with a full spectrum of services.

The new facility nearly doubles the capacity for patient visits each year, while showcasing the launch of The Saint Peter’s Market, stocked with fresh produce and nonperishable food to address area food insecurity and other social determinants of health that impact a patient’s overall well-being.

At the same time, Saint Peter’s Healthcare has also extended the same level of care and support to its workforce. Recently, the health system launched the state’s first tuition-free education benefit available for health care employees.

The Learning, Education and Advancement Program (LEAP) is now available to full-and part-time employees and allows participants to earn valuable credentials and degrees. Through LEAP, employees are able to access more than 1,000 online learning options from academic institutions.

“LEAP is a win-win for our organization, says Leslie Hirsch, president and CEO of Saint Peter’s Healthcare System. “Having the ability to grow and excel in one’s career supports advancement, while enhancing the patient experience and allowing us to retain our best and brightest.”
