UofL Health, based in Louisville, Kentucky, is supporting its health care workers by sharing heartfelt video messages and notes of encouragement and appreciation. The health system also spotlights employees daily on its social media channels.

People are invited to create simple messages of hope, encouragement and gratitude, such as "Thank you for the work you’re doing to make a difference" and "The Power of U." Videos are posted on social media tagging the health care system @UofLHealth.

Every weekday, the health system highlights the hard work and commitment of one of its health care heroes, using the #employeespotlight hashtag on social media channels. Each social post features a photo of the health care worker and a personal note of appreciation from a colleague or manager.

In addition, UofL Health – Peace Hospital – established an "Emotional Support Line" staffed by mental health therapists for the entire UofL Health System of more than 10,000 employees. Weekly meditation and mindfulness sessions are hosted using Zoom. And a relaxation room with a soothing sound machine, essential oils diffuser, rocking chairs and bean bags all are available for the staff to use during breaks.
