“We really appreciate your service to make this world a better place for everyone. You are a lifesaver to others, always there for them when they need you most. You put a lot of dedication into helping people get better. You are very special and make a huge difference in people’s lives.”

“I am so grateful for all you've done over the past few years! I had a baby this year and to say it was a stressful experience to give birth right now is an understatement. However, the nurses and other health care workers who were at my hospital took such good care of me and my son! Thank you!”

“Dear hero, Thank you for caring. Your commitment to helping others is inspirational and so valued. Wishing you happiness and safety!”

These are some of the recent messages shared on AHA’s Forever Grateful webpage thanking the caregivers and people who work at America’s hospitals and health systems for their caring, compassion, courage and commitment to serving patients and communities.

Despite unprecedented challenges this year, hospitals and health systems can be proud of the job they do each and every day to care for our families, our friends and our neighbors.

The giving spirit of the holiday season is seen every day of the year in the care that hospitals provide. No one is turned away from their doors.

Caregivers support newborn babies and their families during the first moments of life. They provide compassionate care toward the end of a person’s life. And they are always there ready to care for so many moments in between.

On behalf of the entire AHA team, it is a privilege to represent our member hospitals and health systems all across the country. The AHA has worked alongside you throughout these trying times to ensure caregivers and hospitals have the critical resources and support they need to continue serving their patients and communities. Please see this short video and report highlighting some of the things we’ve accomplished together this year.

And we’re not done yet. We’re working hard every day in Washington urging Congress to include in a year-end legislative package important priorities to ensure hospitals and health systems are able to continue their mission of caring. There’s still time for you to weigh in with your representative and senators to reinforce our message, and we’ve made it easy for you to do so.

In addition, wanted to make sure you saw that we partnered again with Musicians on Call to bring a special holiday concert featuring acclaimed and award-winning artists to hospitals and health systems. This musical tribute to our nation’s caregivers is accessible through Jan. 2. See additional details and how to watch the concert.

Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to advance health in America. From all of us at AHA, best wishes for a happy, healthy and safe holiday season.
