Hospitals add 7,300 jobs in July

Employment at the nation's hospitals rose by 0.14% in July to a seasonally adjusted 5,119,400 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. That's 7,300 more people than in June and 87,300 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,126,100 people in July – 15,900 more than in June and 86,800 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate fell by 0.1 percentage point in July to 4.3%.
