Hospitals add 5,500 jobs in November

Employment at the nation's hospitals rose by 0.11% in November to a seasonally adjusted 5,120,600 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. That's 5,500 more people than in October and 133,000 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,131,100 people in November – 9,200 more than in October and 132,900 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate fell by 0.3 percentage point in November to 4.6%.
