Hospitals add 10,200 jobs in March

Employment at the nation's hospitals rose by 0.20% in March to a seasonally adjusted 5,039,700 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. That's 10,200 more people than in February and 183,400 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 5,034,400 people in March – 11,600 more than in February and 181,100 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rose by 0.1 percentage point in March to 5%.
