Maternal cardiac arrest is rare but often fatal. Obstetricians and perinatal nurses are often first responders with limited experience in managing primary cardiac arrest and ACLS pregnancy modifications. Multidisciplinary simulations improve performance in catastrophe management but few studies regarding MCA simulation education exist.

Monday, December 15, 2014 On behalf of the American Hospital Association (AHA) Sections for Maternal and Child Health and Psychiatric and Substance Abuse Services, we invite you to join us as we explore two unique models of care for the early identification and treatment of pregnant substance abusing women. Each hospital – one a women's and children's hospital and the other a psychiatric facility – have made a commitment to improve the experiences and outcomes for women of all socioeconomic status who are pregnant and have a substance abuse disorder.
