In response to the Biden-Harris Administration’s vision for ensuring equal opportunity for all Americans, federal agencies have taken historic steps to address equity and remove systemic barriers for those who have been historically underserved, marginalized and harmed by inequality.

With this in mind, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) recently sponsored the publication of a Health Services Research (HSR) special issue.

HSR, the flagship publication of AHA’s Health Research & Educational Trust and an official journal of AcademyHealth, has released “Achieving Healthcare Equity in the United States,” which summarizes the state of evidence and results from an inclusive, participatory process to identify opportunities to drive more equitable care.

The articles in this issue provide input and feedback on AHRQ’s research agenda to support advances in health equity. Read more.
