Strategies to address violence in post-acute environments

As part of its ongoing webinar series, the AHA’s Hospitals Against Violence initiative hosted a members-only webinar Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 2:00 – 3:00 ET, on how post-acute care providers are taking a more active role to help address violence in their communities. Michelle Gittler, M.D., medical director, Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, Chicago, Ill, and Kenneth Bowman, CEO, Van Matre HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, Rockford, IL, will shared how they provide care to patients who have violently acquired injuries including issues of trust, drug and substance abuse, and lack of community-based services or family support as well as initiatives to prevent and address workplace violence.
