Workplace Violence

Workplace violence is a priority issue for hospitals and health issues. The American Hospital Association Hospitals Against Violence (HAV) initiative works with hospitals and health systems to address this issue.

Due to recent tragic events, Hospitals Against Violence has gathered for health care facilities a list of resources and tools that provide guidance on how to prepare and respond to an active shooter incident.
The House of Representatives passed by a vote of 254-166 the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act (H.R. 1195). 
The purpose of this document is to present the outcomes of the survey and to understand what measures exist to prevent and face acts of violence within healthcare organizations.
