The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has updated its tool to help clinicians determine if they must participate in the 2018 Merit-based Incentive Payment System, one of two payment pathways for clinicians under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has updated its alternative payment model participation status tool for the 2018 Quality Payment Program, which identifies eligible clinicians who qualify as advanced APM participants based on Medicare Part B claims data through June.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has extended the deadline for 2017 participants in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System to request a targeted review of their 2019 payment adjustment from Sept. 30 to Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. ET.

Clinicians can apply through Sept. 6 to participate in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' Medicare Advantage Qualifying Incentive Arrangement Demonstration.
Eligible clinicians participating in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System may apply through Dec. 31 for a 2018 hardship exception for the Promoting Interoperability performance category or for “extreme and uncontrollable circumstances.”
