2017 Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study Now Open

The 2017 Most Wired Survey is now open. Since 1999, Hospitals & Health Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association, has annually recognized the nation’s Most Wired hospitals and health systems. Hospitals may also be named to the Most Improved and/or Most Wired—Small and Rural lists.

The Most Wired Survey is a benchmarking tool that looks at how hospitals and health systems are leveraging information technology to improve patient care and efficiency for value-based health care and implementing information technology (IT) strategies essential for future delivery systems.

Participating hospitals and health systems are assessed based on progress in adoption, implementation and use of IT in four critical areas:

• Infrastructure
• Business and Administrative Management
• Clinical Quality and Safety (Hospital Inpatient and Outpatient)
• Clinical Integration (Ambulatory, Physician, Community)

User ID codes to participate in the survey and passwords have been emailed to all hospital CEOs and CIOs. Hospitals that need the ID and password resent or are experiencing problems accessing the survey can send an email to mostwired@aha.org with the hospital’s name, city and state.

Hospitals that have unique IT projects may also compete for the Innovator Award application. A panel of hospital and IT leaders will evaluate submissions based upon achievement of the goals, innovation and uniqueness of concept, scope of solution and impact on the organization.
