President launches cancer 'moonshot' task force
President Obama yesterday established a federal task force to recommend how to speed new treatments and a cure for cancer, an initiative announced in his recent State of the Union address. Chaired by Vice President Joe Biden and funded by the National Institutes of Health, the White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force will consult with the National Cancer Advisory Board and other experts and report its findings to the president this year.
