Gianrico Farrugia, M.D., selected as president and CEO of Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. The Mayo Clinic Board of Trustees announced that it has elected Farrugia to succeed John Noseworthy, M.D., as president and CEO of the Mayo Clinic. Farrugia is the vice president of the Mayo Clinic and CEO of Mayo Clinic in Florida. Noseworthy remains president and CEO through his retirement at the end of the year.

Michael Apkon, M.D., named CEO of Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Tufts Medical Center’s Board of Trustees announced that Apkon will start as the new CEO this fall. Currently, he serves as president and CEO for The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. 

James Linder, M.D., appointed CEO of Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. The Nebraska Medicine board of directors announced that Linder will replace Dan DeBehnke as CEO. Linder has served as a member of the hospital staff for many years as a practicing pathologist. 

Caitlin Beck Stella appointed CEO of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Fla. The hospital announced that Stella replaced Chantal Leconte as CEO in July. Previously, Stella served as chief administrative officer for UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital and Women’s Health in Los Angeles.

Sherry Perkins, M.D., Named President and CEO of UM Capital Region Health in Cheverly, Md. UM Capital Region Health announced that Perkins was selected to serve as president and CEO. Most recently, she served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of UM Capital Region Health. 

Leigh Sewell named CEO of Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Bon Secours Richmond Community Hospital and Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing in Virginia. Sewell will start in these positions effective Sept. 5. Most recently, she served as senior vice president of strategic operations for Bon Secours Virginia. 

Mark Holyoak named CEO of Wilson Medical Center in N.C. The medical center announced that Holyoak has been named CEO effective Sept. 10. Previously, he served as CEO of Castleview Hospital, a LifePoint Health facility, located in Price, Utah.
