Senate confirms surgeon general, HHS assistant secretaries
The Senate yesterday approved President Trump’s nominees to serve as surgeon general and three assistant secretaries at the Department of Health and Human Services. Jerome Adams, M.D., will serve as surgeon general; Elinore McCance-Katz, M.D., as the first HHS assistant secretary for mental health and substance use; Robert Kadlec as HHS assistant secretary for preparedness and response; and Lance Allen Robertson as HHS assistant secretary for aging.
