The Federal Communications Commission’s Connect2Health Task Force will convene several virtual listening sessions beginning next month to facilitate stakeholder input on actions to accelerate the adoption and accessibility of broadband-enabled health care solutions and advanced technologies, including the rural/urban gap and other digital divide issues. The tentative schedule includes a Health Care Provider Forum during the week of Aug. 7; Rural and Consumer Issues Forum during the week of Sept. 11; Technology and Broadband Services Forum during the week of Sept. 18; and Policymakers Forum during the week of Sept. 25. Organizations interested in participating should email the task force by July 28 at connect2health@fcc.gov. For details, see the FCC notice. Tomorrow, the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology will hold a hearing on FCC oversight and reauthorization, which will examine the agency’s role in a variety of policy areas, including broadband.
