Coalition recommends Congress provide $7.48 billion for HRSA discretionary programs

A coalition of more than 100 organizations, including the AHA and its American Organization of Nurse Executives subsidiary, today recommended House and Senate appropriators provide $7.48 billion in discretionary funding for Health Resources and Services Administration programs in fiscal year 2018. “HRSA administers programs that focus on improving care for millions of Americans, who are medically underserved or face barriers to needed care, by strengthening the health workforce and increasing access to quality health services,” the organizations wrote. “Investing in programs that keep people healthy is important for the vitality of our nation.”
