Spectrum Health today received the 2016 Foster G. McGaw Prize for Excellence in Community Service in recognition of its cutting-edge programs and services to reach the underserved residents of Western Michigan. The Baxter International Foundation, AHA and Health Research & Educational Trust sponsor the annual prize. “Through impactful alliances with community organizations, Spectrum Health has shown incredible perseverance, patience and a vision to dramatically improve the health of individuals in their communities and reduce health care costs,” said John O’Brien, prize committee chair. Named as finalists are: Children’s Health System of Texas in Dallas; ProMedica in Toledo, OH; and White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles.
