Hospitals participating in the inpatient and outpatient quality reporting programs can preview their quality data through Feb. 7 at the QualityNet Secure Portal before they are reported in April on the Hospital Compare website. Prospective payment system-exempt cancer hospitals also can preview their quality data for the April update through Feb. 7. Overall hospital star ratings will now be updated twice a year, instead of quarterly. Thus, the April update will maintain the overall hospital rating from the previous quarter. For more on the preview period, including help and quick reference guides, visit www.qualitynet.org. Questions regarding overall hospital star ratings may be emailed to cmsstarratings@lantanagroup.com.
