The Health Resources and Services Administration yesterday awarded cities, states and community-based organizations $2.3 billion in fiscal year 2016 grants to support medical and support services, including medications, for people with HIV/AIDS. “The Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program plays an instrumental role in the United States’ public health response to HIV,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell. “These grants will ensure that Americans living with HIV/AIDS will have lifesaving access to the care and treatment needed for optimal health outcomes.”
