The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services today posted data on Department of Veterans Affairs hospital performance to the Hospital Compare website. The data includes process, outcome and experience of care measures, including mortality and readmission rates for selected conditions and behavioral health and patient safety measures. CMS plans to add more VA data in December and eventually integrate it with other Hospital Compare data to allow performance comparisons between VA and civilian acute-care hospitals.
