Hospitals and health systems throughout the country are helping their hospital colleagues in the Baton Rouge, LA, area whose homes were devastated by last month’s unprecedented flood by donating to the Louisiana Hospital Employee Assistance Fund. More than 5,000 hospital employees in the flooded area suffered significant property loss to their residences and, yet, continue to care for their communities. For example, the Inova Health System in Virginia and Valley Health System in New Jersey have set up programs to match funds donated by their employees to the fund.
