Effective Aug. 1, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has instructed Medicare Administrative Contractors to begin checking hospital and health system claims for outpatient services provided in off-campus provider-based departments to ensure that the address where the services were provided exactly matches the provider location information in the Medicare Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System, the agency announced.
