Walmart Hires Ochsner Exec to Lead Health Care Push

Continuing its push to expand its retail clinic offerings, Walmart Health has hired Ochsner Health System’s David Carmouche, M.D., as senior vice president of Omnichannel Care Solutions. Carmouche, who will begin his new role at the end of the month, had been executive vice president of Ochsner Health’s value-based care and network operations.

The move comes as Walmart continues to restructure its health care leadership team and expand its direct contracts with hospitals and physician groups. In 2018, Carmouche helped coordinate a direct contracting agreement between Ochsner Health and Walmart that covered about 6,000 Walmart and Sam’s Club employees.
