Advocacy Issue: Telling Hospitals’ Stories

Hospitals are under siege from a barrage of negative stories in the media and policy circle that relay a misleading narrative about the field and its value to the communities served by hospitals and health systems. In light of unfair and uninformed criticism of hospitals, AHA launched its #WeAreHealthCare campaign to tell the hospital story and spotlight the tremendous work that occurs each and every day at hospitals and health systems across the country.

The AHA has been working to reaffirm the vital role of hospitals and health systems by cutting through the negative noise to balance the narrative. Now more than ever, we must join together as a field to elevate these efforts reinforcing the vital role hospitals and health systems serve in our society as cornerstones of their community and dedicated to advancing health.
