The American Hospital Association (AHA) today announced that Ryan Frazier will join the AHA as senior vice president of member relations at the end of June.

Currently, Ryan leads his own strategic consulting company and has a number of links to the AHA and its membership – as a former member of the Business Advisory Council of the Coalition to Protect America’s Health Care and as a prior Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET) senior fellow. Recently, Ryan served as the senior advisor of strategic relations and head of government relations for Air Methods Corporation, where as a member of the senior leadership he worked closely with hospitals across the country and oversaw 12 regional vice presidents.

“Ryan brings breadth of expertise to the AHA including a deep understanding of advocacy and policy development, strong member engagement and relations expertise, business acumen, and oversight of regional networks,” said Maryjane Wurth, AHA’s executive vice president and COO. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a former city councilman of Aurora, Colo.

“Ryan is a highly capable and well-respected leader with great communication skills, and his diverse background in business, community service and public service will be an asset to our association. We are very excited to welcome Ryan to the AHA team, and look forward to his leadership in developing innovative and creative approaches for continuing to engage our membership and other key partners in working to advance health in America,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack.

Ryan has three children and has a B.A. from Columbia College and an M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Regis University.
