The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has released additional guidance on the physician fee schedule final rule for calendar year 2019. The guidance addresses frequently asked questions relating to documentation and payment for evaluation and management visits, and 2019 Merit-based Incentive Payment System payment adjustments. CMS also clarified that the 2019 data completeness requirements for the MIPS quality performance category are the same as for 2018, even with the update to the submission terminology. For more on the rule, see the transcript and slides from CMS’s Nov. 19 call.
