WHO investigating Ebola outbreak in Congo

The World Health Organization is investigating an Ebola outbreak in a remote northern area of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the eighth in the African nation since the virus was discovered there in 1976. As of Saturday, 11 suspected cases and three deaths have been reported since April 22. “The full extent of the 2017 outbreak is still not yet clear,” the agency said. “Extensive investigation and risk assessments are being conducted and the findings will be communicated accordingly. WHO does not recommend any restriction of travel and trade to DRC based on the currently available information.”
