AHA issues guide to implementing access strategy in vulnerable communities

The AHA today released a one-page guide to help hospital and health system board members and leaders implement a multi-step strategy to promote care coordination between Indian Health Service facilities and other health care providers. The strategy is one of nine innovative ways for communities at risk for losing access to essential health care services to consider based on their unique needs, support structures and preferences, according to a recent report by the AHA’s Task Force on Ensuring Access in Vulnerable Communities.
