Programs honored for innovation in palliative, end-of-life care
Three programs that expand the reach of palliative and end-of-life care will receive 2016 Circle of Life Awards Monday at the Health Forum-AHA Leadership Summit in San Diego. They are: Bon Secours Palliative Medicine, Richmond, VA; Cambia Palliative Care Center of Excellence at the University of Washington, Seattle; and Susquehanna Health, Williamsport, PA. In addition, three programs will receive citations of honor: Memorial Hermann Physician Network and Symptom Management Consultants, Houston; Meridian Health Palliative Care Service, Neptune, NJ; and OSF Supportive Care, Peoria, IL. “This year’s Circle of Life honorees have made great advancements in incorporating palliative and end-of-life care into all aspects of care, from primary to specialty, and into the community,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. “We are honored to recognize these organizations, which have found new ways to work innovatively with compassion and dedication for their patients and communities.” For more on the award and honorees, see the AHA news release.
