The AHA affiliate American Society for Health Care Risk Management Sept. 5 announced Joann Wortham as its 2024 Risk Management Professional of the Year. Wortham is currently the director of risk management at Huntington Health and previously worked on the risk management team at the University of California Los Angeles. At UCLA Health, Wortham led the system's risk management maternal health initiative and worked with stakeholders to establish its centering pregnancy and pregnancy hypertension monitoring programs, which helped address inequities and disease processes within the system's diverse maternal population. Wortham will be formally recognized at the ASHRM Annual Conference  Oct. 6-9 in San Diego.
