Cris Daskevich, CEO and senior vice president, CHRISTUS Health, The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, will serve as 2023 chair of the AHA Committee on Maternal and Child Health. Victor Klein, M.D., system director, quality and patient safety OB-GYN service line, Northwell Health, is chair-elect. New to the committee for 2023 are: Makunda Abdul-Mbacke, M.D., CEO, Piedmont Preferred Women’s Healthcare; Tasha Hopper, CEO, The Hospitals of Providence East Campus – TENET Healthcare; Tina Pattara-Lau, M.D., maternal child health consultant, U.S. Indian Health Services; Carey Ehlert, M.D., associate professor, department of pediatrics, Children’s Wisconsin; Robert Lane, M.D., executive vice president and physician-in-chief, Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas; and Rhonda Thompson, chief nursing officer and senior vice president, patient care services, Phoenix Children’s Hospital. 

The Committee on Maternal and Child Health serves as a resource on policy issues and guides AHA’s ongoing work on Maternal and Child Health.
