The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Office of Minority Health today released a report on progress and future actions to improve data collection across CMS programs to advance health equity. In a blog post, CMS OMH Director LaShawn McIver, M.D., said priorities moving forward include collecting new health equity data elements across CMS programs; aligning health equity data to acceptable standards; gradually implementing health equity scores; equipping the field with new tools aligned to health equity goals; and providing public access to disaggregated data insights to drive action.
