Joint Commission advisory highlights reprocessing safety tips
The Joint Commission has released an advisory that reviews recommended safety actions for reprocessing reusable instruments and devices.
“Reprocessing critical instruments within regulatory guidance can be a cost effective and efficient way for health care organizations to manage resources, and [these] safety actions can further protect patients and help ensure that critical instruments and devices are clean, sterile and functional,” the advisory notes.
