The Association for the Healthcare Environment, an AHA professional membership group, this week presented its 2021 Phoenix Award to Sandra Rials, AHE director of education. The highest honor bestowed on an AHE member, the award recognizes a professional who has made outstanding contributions to the environmental services profession. Rials the first AHE staff member to receive the award.

“Sandra’s passion and commitment to education and the advancement of all levels of the environmental services profession, evidenced by the success and industry recognition of the AHE Signature Programs as well as a comprehensive portfolio of complimentary member education made this an easy advisory board decision,” said Brad Winnie, president of the AHE Advisory Board, which selects recipients.  

The award was presented during AHE’s Health Care Leadership and Preparedness Symposium in Orlando, FL.
