The AHA will connect hospitals and health systems with businesses interested in vaccinating their employees as part of an effort to increase COVID-19 vaccinations across the country, the White House announced today. The AHA will connect hospitals and health systems with local providers to assist businesses interested in establishing onsite, pop-up vaccination clinics. “According to surveys, many employees say they would get a vaccination if they were able to do so around working hours,” Andy Slavitt, senior advisor to the White House COVID-19 Response Team, said today during the team’s press briefing. “So we are very pleased that effective immediately, the American Hospital Association has launched the capability to bring vaccinations directly to your workplace through their member hospitals.”

White House officials reiterated the critically important role that health care providers and physicians play in helping increase patients’ comfort with COVID-19 vaccines. Interested businesses should email COVID19@aha.org.

“America’s hospitals and health systems stand ready to help businesses large and small provide the opportunity for their employees to get vaccinated as part of our efforts to vaccinate all communities,” said Michelle Hood, AHA executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Before the pandemic and throughout the battle against COVID-19, hospitals across the country have played an important role to keep people healthy and we have seen that vaccinating our communities has made a difference to defeat COVID-19.”
