The U.S. Supreme Court today heard oral argument in the latest challenge to the Affordable Care Act. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals last year ruled the ACA’s individual mandate unconstitutional and sent the case back to the district court in Texas for the judge to determine which of the law's provisions could survive without the mandate. Twenty states and the District of Columbia petitioned the Supreme Court to review the decision.

Sean Marotta, who authored the AHA’s friend-of-the-court brief urging the court to reverse the appeals court decision, provided live analysis of today’s hearing for AHA on Twitter. For more on the oral argument, tune in to today’s AHA podcast with Marotta and AHA General Counsel Melinda Hatton.
