CMS announces 'fast track' process for extending certain Medicaid/CHIP demonstrations

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Friday announced a streamlined process for reviewing certain state requests to extend Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program demonstrations. The “fast track” review process is available to Section 1115 demonstration programs that have had at least one full extension cycle without substantial program changes; have positive monitoring and evaluation results; are not proposing major or complex changes; and use the streamlined extension application templates.
