California wildfires force at least one hospital to evacuate

The Camp Fire seriously damaged part of Adventist Health Feather River hospital in Paradise, Calif., including some inpatient units and multiple hospital outbuildings, the hospital reports. All patients and employees were safely evacuated. “Just know that you are loved, you are greatly appreciated and this community has a deep, deep amount of gratitude for what you have done to just live out our mission in care and love for our community,” said Scott Reiner, CEO of Adventist Health, in a livestreamed Town Hall for the hospital’s associates this afternoon. “I sincerely thank you.” Hospitals and other health facilities in Ventura County also are at risk from the Woolsey and Hill fires, with possible evacuations, the California Hospital Association reported Friday. CHA plans to provide updates as information becomes available.
