States urge HHS to delay hospital price-disclosure start
A group of 34 state hospital associations Thursday urged the Department of Health and Human Services to delay the effective date of the agency’s hospital price transparency rule, which requires hospitals to that hospitals publicly disclose negotiated rates with commercial health plans.
The rule is currently subject to a legal challenge led by the AHA. The states’ letter asks HHS to pause the rule’s implementation until the issue is settled in the courts.
