A former AHA elected officer, Dr. Crosby had directed Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and was the TJC's first director. Under his leadership, AHA became a stronger advocacy force for hospital construction, health care for the aged and poor/disadvantaged and national health insurance.
