Toledo, Ohio-based ProMedica health system will receive the $100,000 Foster G. McGaw Prize for its leadership in addressing community health needs. “We are excited to see how the people of ProMedica, from frontline staff and volunteers, to senior executives and the board, are passionate in their commitment to ‘walk-the-talk’ as champions for community partnerships that yield measurable health gains and superior health care,” said Jim Rice, interim chair of the Foster McGaw Award Committee. “They strengthen communities to enhance health and well-being across a large region, and help other communities to follow their lead.” Named as 2019 finalists and receiving $10,000 each are: UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass.; Texas Health Resources in Arlington, Texas; and Freeman Health System in Joplin, Mo. Baxter International Foundation, the AHA and its Health Research & Educational Trust affiliate sponsor the annual award. For more on the recipients, see the AHA news release
