The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today confirmed a new case of travel-related novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services said the adult, isolated at home, has a history of travel to Beijing and came into contact with known cases while recently in China.

CDC said yesterday to expect case confirmations from individual states after it started shipping diagnostic test kits to qualified U.S. and international laboratories.

One of four planes carrying passengers from Wuhan to the U.S. will land at Eppley Airfield near Omaha, Neb., today or tomorrow. Nebraska officials today said in a press conference that the approximately 70 asymptomatic individuals will stay in quarantine at Camp Ashland and be transported to Nebraska Medicine/University of Nebraska Medical Center if symptoms occur.

The World Health Organization reports more than 28,000 total cases and over 560 deaths, with the majority still in mainland China. While the CDC cannot confirm, China’s National Health Commission reports two cases of possible transmission between an infected mother and newborn, or vertical transmission. WHO said today it will convene a forum on 2019-nCoV research and innovation Feb. 11-12 in Geneva with the Global Research Collaboration for Infectious Disease Preparedness.

CDC will host a series of calls with state and local partners starting Monday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. ET. To participate, call 1-800-857-6697, passcode 1324420.
