The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released updated infection prevention and control guidance for patients under investigation or with confirmed novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in health care settings. CDC continues to update 2019-nCoV resources for health care providers and public health professionals as more is known, and urges health care partners to check its website often for updates.

The Department of Health and Human Services today announced a collaboration with Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. to develop a novel coronavirus treatment using multiple monoclonal antibodies, which reduce a virus’ ability to infect human cells. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization said it is sending 250,000 tests to over 70 laboratories globally for faster testing. As of today, 11 people in the U.S. have tested positive for the virus, and WHO reports 20,630 global cases and over 400 related deaths.

CDC will host a series of calls with state and local partners starting Monday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. ET. To participate, call 1-800-857-6697, passcode 1324420. For the latest information and resources, including guidance from CDC, visit AHA’s coronavirus webpage.
