HHS seeks input on ensuring legitimate access to controlled substances
The Department of Health and Human Services seeks input from health care providers and other stakeholders for a report to Congress on ensuring legitimate access to controlled substances, including opioids, while preventing diversion and abuse. The Ensuring Patient Access and Effective Drug Enforcement Act of 2016 calls for HHS to submit the report, including feedback and recommendations from providers, patients, pharmacies, drug makers, law enforcement, health insurers and others. Comments are due Aug. 26.
