House passes bill that would extend AHA-supported Medicaid demonstration
The House of Representatives last night passed legislation (H.R. 3253) that includes an AHA-supported provision that would extend the Community Mental Health Services demonstration through 2021. The program, which expands access to treatment of mental illnesses and substance use disorders through community-based clinics, is set to expire this month. The bill also would extend the Money Follows the Person Rebalancing Demonstration and impoverishment protections for people whose spouses receive Medicaid home- and community-based services, among other provisions.
